Lana del Banana

Burlesque / Producer / Actor

Lana del Banana is the president and founding member of the Darwin Cabaret and Burlesque Collective. Being the driving force behind the collective she has produced and performed in numerous shows over the last 3 years, at a range of venues across Darwin, including Burlesque at Bogarts, Cabaret Choo Choo at the Railway Club and several shows at Browns Mart, including Darwin of the Dead. Lana also successfully held two burlesque nights at the Happy Yess including Darwin’s first Burlesque Quest, giving new and up and coming burlesque performers a chance to shine. Lana assisted with the Australian Burlesque Festival in Darwin as ASM and recently attended BurlyCon in Seattle, the world’s largest burlesque conference.

She has trained in classical and jazz ballet, and dappled in swing dancing and pole dancing. Constantly trying to hone her craft, Lana is presently under the tutelage of Ellashaye D'More, one of Australia's finest Burlesque starlets. 

As an actor, Lana has attended many drama workshops, and facilitates drama workshops herself. She has appeared in Children's Theatre including The Bad Book and The Very Bad Book in Melbourne. In Darwin, Lana has performed with Darwin Theatre Company, Corrugated Iron and Australian Theatre for Young People. She will be appearing in the upcoming film, The Great Brain Robbery, by acclaimed local playwright Levin Diatschenko and appeared in local favourites Dave Garnham and The Reasons to Live music vide "Here We Go",  which recently won the NT Music Video Galah Award at the NT Fist Full of Films Festival. She will surely hit the big time when it gets rotation on RAGE!
